Acne often results in a person losing all of his/her self confidence. Hence, removing acne, as soon as possible and by any method available, assumes high priority in the minds of people. The effectiveness of most of these methods are however, not so good and in fact, they can also cause several negative impacts on the health as well. Choosing the correct acne treatment product is thus, often crucial because unless you can select one that is effective, it might not work. We have carried out a product review of all the <a target="_blank" href=""http://www.skincareconnect.com/acne-treatment-care.html""target='_blank'>acne skin care formulations that are out there and we have published our findings here for your convenience. Once you have read the reviews and got all this information, choosing the correct acne treatment product will be much easier.

1.	Sensiclear – The only acne treatment regime with the combination of the patented Retextra and Salicyclic acid, Sensiclear is a truly effective product for removing acne. Understandably, SensiClear is a totally new cosmeceutical (probably a hybrid between a cosmetic and pharmaceutical product) weapon against acne with the addition of Retextra. You can even try it free for the first 30 days and see for yourself if it is good for you.
2.	Hydroderm Acne – If you are looking for a good <a target="_blank" href=""http://www.skincareconnect.com/acne-treatment-care.html""target='_blank'>acne skin care solution, and that too without consulting a doctor, Hydroderm Clear is the right product for you. There are no risks of irritation that is associated with this product, since it is made up of anti-Bacterial Peptide and Oxydectaline. The Hydroderm component of this product has a high chance of being effective, and the overall reviews of this item are also very favorable.
3.	Shiva 23 – Although it is a relatively new entrant in the field of treating acne, it has already had a number of favorable reviews. Deep penetration of the skin is common by this product, after which it attacks the cell membrane of the bacteria that actually causes the acne, and destroys the bacteria that is responsible for the growths.

Acne is a cruel disease because it affects a person in his or her teens when it is so important to look good. An uncomfortable feeling of itchiness accompanies acne, and when these growths are picked at, it can lead to scar marks. These scars are often long-lasting, and can remain even after the actual acne has gone. Removing acne hence, should be done as quickly as possible, and you need to choose an effective acne skin care that works quickly is thus essential for this purpose.

Scalp acne is one of the lesser known types of acne, yet it still affects people all over the world.

Here is a look at scalp acne and the type of treatment options that are available to you if you are one of the many who suffer from it.
Scalp acne is a more recently discovered form of acne.

Unlike other forms, this particular acne condition appears only on the scalp. However, the causes of scalp acne are often the same as the causes for acne that affects the face and other parts of the body.

The scientific term for scalp acne is scalp folliculitis. Basically, this condition is an inflammation of the hair follicles on the scalp. Other terms for scalp acne include necrotica miliaris and proprionibacterium acne folliculitis.

If you take a close up look of scalp acne, you will see that it looks similar to the other types of acne found on the body – small pustules and pimples occurring on the scalp of the acne sufferer.

Unfortunately for the person with the condition, scalp acne can be quite itchy. It also is most prominent along the hairline, making it quite noticeable to other people.

Just like other forms of acne, scalp acne can vary in severity. A patient may only have a few lesions, or they may have several. Since it is located on the scalp, many patients have a tendency to scratch at the scalp acne pustules.

This can cause them to rupture, becoming uncomfortable. The resulting fluid also takes on an unattractive, crusty appearance.
It can take some time to clear up scalp acne, often a month or more with treatment.

Scalp acne is most commonly seen in individuals that go through high levels of stress on a daily basis, and in those people that have an oilier than normal scalp.

If you do not wash your hair frequently enough, use hair products that irritate your scalp, or frequently use oils on your hair, you could also be subject to scalp acne.

The best way to treat scalp acne is to keep your hair clean. A mild shampoo is best to use, or ask your dermatologist for suggestions. In most cases, an anti-dandruff shampoo is too harsh for use on scalp acne, and may irritate your scalp more. In most cases, you can continue to use your conditioner on your hair, just avoid using oils on the scalp.

There are also some products that are specifically designed to treat scalp acne that you can get from your dermatologist. They often include clindamycin, erythromycin, or another antibiotic that is applied directly to the scalp to help heal the scalp acne lesions.

Of the different types of scalp acne, acne necrotica is the worst. With this condition, you will see large, noticeable spots where the hair follicles and papules have become inflamed.

Left untreated, this condition will form a black crust and permanent scarring that can affect the way you look. Also, if it is left untreated, this form of scalp acne can spread to the face as well.

Because of this, if you feel that you have scalp acne that is not improving, you should see your dermatologist right away.

A Look at Back Acne and What You Can Do About It

Acne is a common problem for both adults and teenagers. The most common perception of acne is that it occurs on the face, which is the most observable form of acne.

However, if you have acne, you know that it can occur in other places as well, such as on the chest and on the back.

While chest and back acne is not as obvious to the outside observer, it can be very annoying for those who suffer from it. And unfortunately, chest and back acne is often more difficult to treat than the acne that you have on your face.

Plus, the traditional treatments and cleansers that you buy for your face will often not work as effectively, if at all, for your back acne.

And since your chest and back is often covered by clothing, you can experience more irritation from the rubbing of materials against it.

Just as you do with your facial acne, you will need a daily treatment routine for your back acne.

Most common regimens include a cleanser followed with a moisturizer. Often, it is more difficult to apply medication to your back acne because of where it is located, so you may need to enlist the help of a family member or a lotion applicator.

Watch the type of clothing that you wear, since this could be aggravating your back acne. Rough materials or tight-fitting shirts can rub against your skin, irritating the acne and increasing oil production, causing more breakouts.

You may also be aware of the type of detergent and fabric softeners that you use. Sometimes having a sensitivity to the fragrance can irritate back acne more, so you may need to change your detergent to a different brand or even one of the dye and fragrance free varieties.

Watch what you are carrying on you back as well.

For teenagers and young adults in school, as well as those who do a lot of hiking and backpacking, heavy backpacks can make back acne conditions worse.

If you are seeing an increase in the number of acne breakouts along your shoulder or back where the backpack lies, you may need to stop using it for a while.

A shoulder bag can help in the interim. Once you have successfully treated and eliminated the back acne, you can try using the backpack again.

A dermatologist can help assist you with the diagnosis and treatment of back acne.

First your doctor will determine how bad of a case you have, such as mild, moderate, or severe. You may also need to have your skin type evaluated to see if you have oily, dry, or combination skin.

Your dermatologist will also want to hear a history of the acne condition, such as how long you have had it and how frequent outbreaks are, and any past history of skin conditions that you have suffered from.

All of this allows him or her to determine the best course of treatment and medication to cure your individual case of back acne.

Four Common Questions and Answers about Adult Acne

While there are many adults suffering from adult acne, many do not understand anything about it.

There are many questions that they may have about the condition, and here is a look at some of the more common ones and their answers.

What is acne? That is often the first many people have about the condition.

Acne is the most common skin condition affecting people from ages 11 to 30.

It is also a disorder of the oil glands in the skin. Your skin has oil glands that produce an oil sebum that helps to keep it lubricated.

However, an overproduction of this sebum can cause the blackheads, cysts, and pustules associated with acne. There are numerous reasons why this may happen, but the most common reasons are associated with hormonal changes.

These may be from:

puberty,

pregnancy,

and menopause,

as well as with changes in birth control medications.

What is the difference between adult and teenage acne? Many people do not realize that there are actual differences between the two types of acne.

Besides having different causes, they two types of acne also start in different places. For most teenagers, acne will form on the forehead and nose. On the other hand, adult acne will often occur on the chin, jaw and neck.

Adult acne usually needs to be treated by a dermatologist, since most of the over the counter remedies are designed to treat the causes of teenage acne. Adult acne is often caused by hormonal imbalances, though stress and environment can also play a role.

What are the differences between rosacea acne and adult female-hormonal acne?

The two are both conditions that affect adult women. However, the two are different.

Rosacea acne will usually be found in menopausal women and those with fair skin. Sufferers of rosacea experience dry, sensitive skin almost all of the time, resulting in skin redness and pimples. The condition can be further aggravated by spicy foods, alcohol, and exposure to the sun and extreme weather.

While adult acne may look similar, it is not generally bothered by these conditions.

How do you know if you have rosacea or acne?

Mostly, you can tell it from the symptoms. Adult acne tends to worsen as you age, and will appear on the chin, jaw line, and neck, often during the premenstrual cycle.

There are also several factors that will make the condition worse, including:

hereditary,

increases of male hormones like testosterone in women,

stopping or changing birth control medication,

some cosmetics,

and some medications.

If you are still unsure what type of acne you have, your dermatologist can give you a diagnosis, as well as recommend treatment to cure and prevent acne.

If you have adult acne, your dermatologist is going to be your best resource for information and treatments. Most of the over the counter treatments are designed for teenage acne, and will not deal with the underlying causes of adult acne.

Hormonal fluctuations may also need medications to treat, which cannot be done with over the counter formulations.

When to Consult Your Dermatologist about Facial Acne

If you have acne, you may have felt like it was something that you just have to live with. Maybe you have tried some remedies only to have them fail. Maybe you have thought you should see a dermatologist, but have put it off.

There is no set time when you should definitely consult a dermatologist, as everyone’s acne is different. A lot of it is determined by your personal comfort level with the skin condition. Some people are bothered by their first pimple, while others are only concerned when a breakout becomes severe.

For example, most teenagers have to deal with acne to some extent as a result of their changing hormones. While this is a totally normal response to their body changes, and generally goes away on its own, some teenagers get it worse than others, and some have a harder time dealing with it. During a time when they are already uncomfortable with their changing bodies, it may be worth the trip to the dermatologist.

You should also consider a dermatologist if you are a teenager if your acne is getting progressively worse, if you see that you are getting acne scars as a result of the redness and swelling, or if you have persistent inflammation that is not going away on its own. A dermatologist may be able to advise treatment options for you before your acne gets any worse.

However, teenagers are not the only people who may be considering a visit to their dermatologist as a result of their acne. Many adults face the problem as well, though it is often for different reasons.

Hormones during pregnancy can cause acne, as can illness, hormonal imbalances, poor hygiene, and even your genetics. Deciding whether or not to seek the help of a dermatologist is a personal decision, and often depends on the severity of your outbreaks.

If you are constantly facing breakouts, have acne that is painful or inflamed, or are starting to see scarring as a result of your acne, it may be time to seek a dermatologist. If it is merely the occasional pimple or blackhead, it is probably not worth the time to set up a doctor visit and insurance co-payments.

Your dermatologist will best be able to advise you of treatments to control your acne, or let you know if something you are doing is contributing to the severity of your acne outbreaks. If you have a mild case of acne, your doctor can let you know of a wash or medication that you can apply during breakouts.

Other times, you may need a stronger medication. Since acne is often a hormonal response, there is not always much that you can do on your own. For severe cases, you may need a medication that fights the production of hormones and excess oil production to help keep your pores clear. For women, sometimes something as simple as changing the type of birth control that they use can make all the difference in the severity of their acne.

The Connection between Food and Acne

You may have heard the saying “you are what you eat.” Science has long debated whether or not the foods you eat correlates into the amount of acne that your suffer from.

Previously, there appeared to be no connection, but newer studies are starting to show an association between the two.

If you are constantly suffering from acne, and traditional methods are not working to get rid of it, it may be time to take a look at what you are eating.

Sometimes, a few simple diet changes can not only make you a healthier person overall, but can have dramatic effects on how your skin looks – even if you have been suffering from acne for years!

Not all dermatologists will tell you that your diet can affect how you look – especially since research done decades ago used to state that there was not a connection. But if what you eat can improve your digestive system, heart, or brain function, does it not make sense that it can improve your acne as well?

Some of the foods that you eat will cause acne, while other types of food that you eat can help you fight it. So obviously, if you are suffering from acne, it would make sense to eat more of the foods that help combat it and avoid the foods that cause it as often as you can.

Of all the foods that you eat, vegetable oil is the worst offender when it comes to acne. This is because it causes a shift in your hormones, upping your skin’s oil production, which in turn clogs pores and turns into acne breakouts.

Eating a greasy, fatty meal can cause an acne breakout to occur out of nowhere and turn into the painful pimples and cysts that you are trying so hard to avoid.

If you start to read labels on the foods that you eat on a daily basis, you may be surprised at the amount of vegetable oil that you are eating. Finding ways to reduce or eliminate it can help you with your acne problems.

Some foods are worse than others when it comes to the amount of vegetable oil that they contain. Cooking oils are mostly pure vegetable oil, so you should avoid them as much as possible.

Instead of deep frying foods, try baking, or stir frying with only a minimal amount of oil in the pan. Cooking this way will also cause your meals to be healthier overall and lower in fat content.

Junk foods are primary offenders as well. Avoid chips and greasy snacks if you can, choosing fresh fruits and vegetables instead. If you are having a hard time putting the snack food down entirely, try healthier options like plain popcorn or baked chips, as these often contain lower amounts of vegetable oil.

Watch your sauces and condiments. Here you may have to read labels carefully to decide which one is a better choice.

For example, in general a marinara sauce will have less oil in it than an Alfredo sauce. However, different brands will have varying amounts. You can try making your own sauces from home, or choosing ones that are lower in fat and oils.
